Secret Escapes
4d ago

We are looking for an Internal Communications Partner to lead internal communications across Secret Escapes and our group of companies.

About Secret Escapes

Secret Escapes is the UK’s biggest members-only website that runs best-in-market flash sales of four and five star hotels and holidays worldwide.

We offer our members exclusive rates of up to 60% off.

It’s been a tough old year for the travel industry, but our recovery is well underway and the future is looking really bright.

This is an exciting role with the scope to influence the way we do things internally as we rebuild our company culture and get into the new normal.

Sitting with our People team, you will be the spearhead of our internal comms, working alongside senior leadership and employees across all of our international offices to shape what it means to be a Secret Escaper.

We're looking for grafters and self-starters to join the gang, who can keep up with the pace and want to make a difference.

We still work in relatively small teams, so there's no room for coasting along. We're friendly, happy, and most importantly, we work hard.

We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and we're all madly passionate about our brand.

Questions you will help answer

  • What does great comms look like at Secret Escapes?
  • How should we evolve the look and feel of internal communications?
  • How can we make our comms processes slicker and more proactive?
  • How could we improve communications across departments and countries?
  • Things you’ll be working on

  • Developing an internal communications strategy and plan aligned to the company strategy, which is joined up with both external and recruitment communications.
  • Managing our monthly comms planning meeting with our founders.
  • Managing our communication channels, including looking to introduce a new social communications platform.
  • Working with business leaders, plan and develop content for various leadership and staff events, both in person and virtual, creating engaging experiences that encourage two-way dialogue
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, and our founders, partnering with them to deliver their messages in an engaging way.
  • Managing the Internal Communications budget
  • Implementing effective methods of tracking the success of internal communications
  • How the magic happens

We’re a team of international HR peeps, working from London to Berlin to Warsaw. We work hard, get our stakeholders and love providing a great candidate experience (we won silver at the in house recruitment awards and are aiming for gold next time)!

    The deal breakers

  • You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to shape an internal communications strategy
  • You’re an excellent writer with an adaptable and thoughtful communication style bringing the correct tone of voice to each piece of communication.
  • Also have the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders and present persuasive arguments to convince others.

  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to adapt style and approach to different audiences
  • Effective planning and project management skills with the ability to set and work to deadlines
  • Highly developed creative skills and enthusiasm for developing technologies and social media platforms to engage with our people effectively, choosing the most appropriate channel including intranet, video, print, digital and social media.
  • We want someone who will be a collaborative and supportive member of the People team, and our Marketing and External Communications team.
  • And you have

  • Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies and plans across multiple channels and audiences
  • Significant experience of designing and running leadership and staff events both face to face and virtual
  • Demonstrable evidence of positively influencing employee engagement
  • Experience of social media based communications whether using internal or external platforms.
  • Things you should know

We love our food! The team is always hitting the local market for tasty lunches, or the Japanese restaurant down the road, or just the shop downstairs for some mid-afternoon snacks.
