The role

What will you be exposed to :

  • We have 7 engineering specialisms at Curtins so you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of potential career opportunities.
  • As engineers, we have a responsibility to create sustainable engineering solutions and be innovative in the design and repurpose of spaces in our communities so you will learn about measuring and reducing carbon in engineering.
  • Structural engineering : analysis and design of structures in structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber, masonry.
  • Civil Engineering : analysis and design of drainage and highways.
  • Experience using SuDS designs using MicroDrainage (or other similar design packages) and production of detailed hand calculations.
  • Analysis using 3D modelling software such as Civils 3D, Revit and Tekla.
  • Contribution to internal project design meetings.
  • Work with other teams such as Transport planning, Environmental and Principal Design to understand how our design is fully coordinated.
  • Prepare correspondence and complete required assessments and reports as and when require.
  • We are looking for someone who :

  • Has the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team with colleagues and clients.
  • Is adaptable and able to find creative solutions to problems for our clients.
  • Is passionate about engineering and takes pride in providing high quality work.
  • Behaves ethically and does the right thing, even behind closed doors.
  • Knowledge required :

  • Studying MEng / MSc degree in Civil and / or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • IT literate and able to produce reports and accurate technical notes professionally and to a high standard.
  • An understanding of industry standards, practices, regulations, and health & safety.
