    Quality Assurance Manager

    About the role :

    You will be responsible for performing all aspects of Bid & Project Quality Assurance within the entity in accordance with the Thales Quality policy and Quality Management System (QMS).

    To ensure that the Business’ products and services are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations.

    Your main stakeholder relationships will be built and maintained and you will typically interact with :

  • Project Management
  • Commercial
  • Corporate Quality teams
  • Working on real projects, taking on genuine responsibilities and gaining unique experiences will form the core of your development.

    The list below is not exhaustive nor will individuals be expected to be able to undertake all of them.

    Key Responsibilities and Tasks

    You will be focussed around the following aspects :

  • To understand the customers’ requirements to enable project quality to represent the voice of the customer during internal discussions to maximise customer focus.
  • Develop credible relationships across the Bids & Projects function to input into pragmatic solutions to eliminate / mitigate issues and / or risks.
  • Knowing when it is appropriate to escalate

  • Ensure the application of the Group Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Quality Assurance policies, and the Group Reference system (Chorus 2.
  • 0). Provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

  • Ensure the effectiveness of alerting and vetoing process.
  • Promote Quality within the entity, ensuring that all managers and staff are made aware of the QMS and the specifics as relevant to the entity and their roles and responsibility in its
  • operation.

  • Manages the generation of the defined documentation to support the task delivery and scheduled business / project reviews.
  • Analyses the customer’s quality requirements, defines and sets up the Quality plan(s) in the bid and / or project phase, and makes sure that the plan contains all the measures necessary to fulfil the standards and reference system.
  • Approves or ensures the formal approval of the conformity of products and takes responsibility for the follow-up of customer complaints.
  • Generate the defined documentation to support the task delivery and business reviews.
  • Systematically perform Quality audits and surveillance activities on assigned bids and projects in accordance with the Company Reference system and Contract and Regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigations and analyse Quality data / metrics and initiate improvement as applicable.
  • Pursue the standardisation of audit process to capitalise on the roll out, training and development of Thales PIVS (Process Implementations & Verification) auditing tool.
  • Ensure that the Quality Management system is functioning properly. Provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
  • Interface with other Quality functions to ensure the implementation of best practice, thus meeting the requirements of the company.
  • Identify, develop and implement Continuous and business improvements opportunities that contribute to the Operations objectives and the business Ambition 10 performance plan.
  • Skills, Experience and Qualifications

    You will be required to most of the following below :

  • At least 3 years in a related Quality and or Project / Operations environment with a reputation in change management.
  • Proven capability in auditing and process development
  • Knowledge of Industry Quality and Engineering Standards and Processes and be familiar with MoD contractual requirements for Quality Assurance
  • Education and Qualifications

  • Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Related Professional Qualification and Membership of Associations.

    The Systems Engineers are the technical focal point for the Systems Engineering process and must resolve all issues, problems and questions in the entire system.

    This requires frequent handling of new and unusual issues and therefore a proven record working towards a related degree in Systems Engineering is preferable.
