Head of Cloud Adoption

Job Purpose

As part of the separation from GSK the Consumer Health strategy is to adopt public cloud technology, mainly Azure and GCP, for hosting workloads.

As this technology is relatively new to CH and the strategy has been to lift and shift applications to the cloud as is, there is a significant requirement to optimise the workloads placed on the cloud to ensure CH can take full advantage of the potential whilst avoiding any unnecessary extra cost.

This role will be responsible for collaborating with other technology leaders across CTO and CH, as well as managing partners.

The Head of Cloud Adoption will need to define the roadmap for optimisation and are responsible for realising cost reduction in the cloud spend.

They will need to create a long-term strategy, in collaboration with the Head of Cost and Financials, to shift towards a true TCO model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought-leadership on cloud adoption, strategy development and cloud technologies
  • Responsible for :
  • Develop the cloud optimisation strategy in collaboration with other CTO cloud leaders
  • Define and establish the cloud adoption and cloud demand governance processes.
  • Develop and deliver the long term TCO adoption strategy in collaboration with other team members.
  • Responsible for realising reduction in the cloud spend.
  • Develop and deliver the cloud engagement and education plans in collaboration with other team members.
  • Develop and embed cloud and standards in collaboration with team members.
  • Define and develop cloud MI and OKRs

  • Demonstrable experience devising, managing and deploying a resource plan and budget to maximise impact
  • A user centric approach to product development, leading your teams to focus on the genuine end user need above the views of internal partners.

    New Consumer Healthcare HQ :

    Recently we’ve shared some exciting proposals with our colleagues which mark an important moment in our preparations for separation and becoming a new, standalone Consumer Healthcare company.

    Our preparations are going well. GSK is on track to separate in mid-2022 and create two incredible new companies, each with the ability to improve the health of millions of patients and consumers worldwide, and both great places to work.

    We’ve already confirmed that our new Consumer Healthcare company will be headquartered in the UK and the first step we’re taking is to announce proposals to move our CH business from our current location in GSK House in Brentford when we separate, into a new, CH headquarters in Weybridge.

    This will be a temporary, but important move in the short term, whilst we take this opportunity to design for the future and create an inspiring, flexible, collaborative workspace that meets the changing needs of our people and our business needs.

    Inspired by our new culture and purpose, and with a commitment to our sustainability goals, we plan to build a new campus close by which would be home to our headquarters teams, our UK business, our global Oral Health category, R&D and innovation teams, as well as a state-of-the-art Shopper Science lab.
