  • We are recruiting on behalf of Freeman where you will gain valuable experience and a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician qualification.

    What you will be doing :

    Freeman is looking for a new addition to their team. All existing Managers started their career as IT apprentices within schools and businesses focused on IT Infrastructure.

    The successful candidate will be mentored and guided by the Managers who understand the technology industry and take time to mentor and support their employees.

  • 1st Line Support in resolving problems associated with Windows 10 and Mac operating systems.
  • Supporting the IT Helpdesk in diagnosing IT issues and implementing fixes on-site and using remote connection tools.
  • Installing new software and hardware where required.
  • Assisting in system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Follow the correct asset management process when allocating IT equipment ensuring the database is updated accordingly.
  • Supporting the team and end-users with mobile devices - Android, and iOS.
  • Using an IT Ticketing System to manage workload and tasks.
  • Supporting Wireless Access Points
  • Supporting Server equipment and Server operating systems.
  • Supporting Network equipment.
  • Customer-focused ensuring IT issues are resolved prompted and / or escalated where required.
  • The training that you'll be provided with :

    As a Primary Goal apprentice, you will have access to :

  • Comprehensive digital pre-apprenticeship induction programme (including health and safety, safeguarding, PREVENT, technical and curriculum specifics)
  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship standard (Networking and Architecture, Mobile and Operating Systems & Security, Cloud Services, Coding and Logic, Business Processes)
  • e-learning training materials
  • Specialist vendor and technical certificates
  • Access to practice labs to develop technical competency
  • 12 training days with Tablet Academy (specialist technology curriculum partner)
  • Curriculum knowledge base (lesson plans, resources etc)
  • Monthly assessor visits and competency checks
  • Support desk (technical, curriculum and pastoral)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Key Skills development
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities module
  • You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support.
  • Our apprentices love being able to help each other!

  • As one of our apprentices, you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support.

    What your working week will look like :

    Business hours are flexible due to the nature of Freeman UK business. Extended business hours and weekends will be required.

    This position may require early morning and late nights. Core hours are 08 : 30 until 17 : 00.

    Annual Wage :

    Starting at £9,000 per annum and progressing through to £11,000 with positive incremental milestones towards apprentice and progression in the workplace

    Expected Duration : 18 months

    Desired Qualifications :

    We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or functional skills level 2 in English and Maths.
