HR Advisor home based with the requirement to be on site in our York office once a week.

This is a permanent position but please note that this position will move over from Capita to Trustmarque in the near future.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner your remit will be to support line managers on the application of HR policies and procedures, conditions of service and employment law, in order to reinforce the effective employee relations and resourcing requirements within the business.

Approximately 60% of the role will be managing Employee Relations and 40% being the HR Advisor lead on people priority projects, for example, setting up the early careers scheme.

The role will be going through some exciting changes where you will be involved in the HR set up post Capita.

Job Description :

What you’ll be doing :

  • Building strong professional relationships with management teams and participate in management team meetings
  • Providing commercially focused advice and support to managers on all employee relations issues in line with company procedures including disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence issues
  • Making the business aware of current and new employment legislation as well as other corporate initiatives
  • Identifying trends and proactively address issues of high turnover, sickness and cost savings with the business, producing monthly HR reports and HR statistics
  • Leading the HR work stream on ad hoc projects e.g. restructuring, change management, Group HR initiatives
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Generalist HR experience, preferably gained within a fast paced commercial / professional environment, with regular experience in complex HR issues to include redundancies, dismissals, change management
  • CIPD qualified / and or equivalent experience / or currently working towards qualification
  • Knowledge of Workday (desirable) and solid experience of HR Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • You should have high levels of resilience and be able to cope with ambiguity and changing (sometimes competing) demands, along with experience of managing a varied workload with limited supervision
