VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting a Trade Management Manager for a Global Financial Services business based in Belfast.

This firm plays a pivotal role in the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

My client is known in the market for their honesty, integrity and excellence in provision of service to their clients.

The Role

Initially the role will be responsible for the migration of services from the firm’s London office into the newly established Belfast office.

  • Managing, motivating and leading the Trade Management team
  • Provide oversight of various external systems / platforms
  • Ensure data integrity within system
  • Monitor trade flows via the in-house exception monitoring tools
  • Engage the team manager with any suggestions of process changes that may make the team more efficient or team improve controls
  • Ensuring the department remain up-to-date and in compliance with all regulations and requirements affecting the Trade Management Department
  • Uploading Client credit limits into the screen, creating both internal and external User logins and maintaining the various product admin properties in the database
  • Represent Trade management as a stakeholder in any relevant project meetings
  • Performing the give-up’ of trades across multiple exchanges with various local nuances & clearing times.
  • Setting up Client Static data at our clearers as well as internal Middle office and Billing systems
  • Ensure Give up Agreements are in place for all counterparties traded with
  • Extensive interaction with our clients, clearers and brokers to ensure timely pick up of trades
  • Intraday Cash Management and Collateralisation : Ensuring our accounts with our clearers are funded appropriately to support any required margin calls
  • Liaising with Brokers to manage trade exceptions
  • Escalating unclaimed trades and ensuring margin provisions are in place
  • Liaising with Accounts receivable to ensure clients are billed correctly
  • Ratifying clearing fees and charges and posting them to relevant Desks
  • Performing reconciliations for all cash accounts with our clearers
  • Review ETD trading on a daily basis to ensure the company has a flat book, escalating residual balances
  • Liaising with Clients to resolve trade queries
  • Fulfil any additional ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • People Responsibilities :

  • Management and development of the Trade Management team. Talent management, training and development and succession planning for the team while ensuring strong employee engagement of what should be a highly performing, well-motivated team
  • Ensure that all members of the team have the relevant knowledge and training, so as to ensure that : There are no single points of failure within the teamCross training and knowledge transfer is implemented and maintained at all timesAll members of staff have sufficient knowledge and experience to ensure that they understand their role as a first line of defence and that our business remains protected.
  • Ensure that any necessary process and procedures are documented, and maintained through any relevant changes.
  • The Person

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
  • A broad base of financial services operations knowledge and experience
  • Strong, demonstrable experience of effectively managing a Trade Management team within a capital markets or financial services operations environment
  • Strong proven experience in the management of a team that operates under pressure
  • Experienced in building and establishing teams, and through mentoring, empower them to achieve, and deliver against evolving goals
  • Proven experience in identifying, implementing and ensuring successful process improvements
