Why this role matters

Exciting times - our HR team is leading and supporting colleagues through incredible change across multiple programmes. The Change and Engagement Manager plays a key role in helping us to maintain a brilliant employee experience through one of those, The Better Workplace Programme.

The Programme will create brilliant workplaces for our desk based colleagues across the country that they can be proud of.

The programme will run over 3-5 years and pave the way for cultural change and enable new ways of working. The programme is fuelled by our ambition to do the best for our colleagues - so we can play our part in making BT a brilliant place to work.

It’s challenging, at times exhausting, but it’s also hugely rewarding and fun. And there’s a terrific team forming to deliver this together.

The Better Workplace Programme is focused on creating brilliant new workplaces and co-locating colleagues with purpose, enabling BT to work smarter and more effectively in fewer better workplaces.

This means big change for many of our colleagues; some changes will be welcomed and others will require colleagues to make choices about their career that they find harder we have a role to play in helping all of them.

Whatever their change journey is, all affected employees should be able to say :

I know why we’re doing it, I know what’s happening and how it affects me

I’m well informed : the messages I receive are consistent and I know who to talk to when I have questions

I feel respected, involved and supported

To deliver on our mission, we need a clear plan and drumbeat of comms, change and engagement activities that bring together everything we’re working on across The Better Workplace Programme for our colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have acquired communication and change & engagement skills in a corporate environment.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the plan, and more critically you’ll be responsible for bringing all the different internal communications and engagement activities to life for TBWP Team and colleagues across BT.

You’ll act as a sense-checker to make sure anything we have planned reflects our TBWP priorities - working hand-in-hand with TBWP Change and Comms communities to gather their input, ensuring we’re all synced up.

You’ll also constantly gather intel into how well the stuff we’re delivering as a team has landed, finding new and brilliant ways to make the stuff we do better and better.

And you’ll be the right-hand (wo)man to our one of our amazing Project Managers, making sure all our project comms and engagement is spot on.

In a nutshell, you’ll be a brilliant creative, a planner, an innovator, a collaborator and challenger.
