Role Purpose

Senior role within XGPS Operations and Change team. Focus is on best practise P2P business process with a strong partnership with Technology.

Key role in identifying process improvement and best practice solutions, partnering with third party customers, suppliers, IT and Procurement teams to deliver end to end solutions.

Identifying process improvements is paramount to the role as well as shaping a scaleable platform which easily caters for new work, all of which must be designed with the ability to house the main processing in any global location.

The successful candidate will exhibit a proactive approach in a customer facing role and build confidence with the customer by displaying P2P expertise.

Key projects of this role in 2012 / Early 2013 will be requirements gathering, process re-engineering, testing and change management for OCR (Optical Character Resolution) and business process support for Oracle R12 Upgrade.

Key accountabilities

  • Key user in the development of the P2P technology and the end-end process for requisition through pay.
  • Expertise in Best Practise P2P processes.
  • Full GL rigour and control of key financial statements into the GL. Control methodologies for the GRNI account.
  • Development of workflow for release and approval strategies in requisition / PO’s.
  • Robust payment methodology design and reconciliation of data to the cash teams.
  • Design and ownership of archiving data for VAT receipts and reclaim.
  • Strong relationship with internal and external auditors as well as excellent understanding of UK VAT
  • Design and implementation of imaging solution for invoices and records for OCR (Optical Character Resolution).
  • Development of Management information, reporting, and KPI’s for Purchasing, AP, payment and compliance statistics.
  • Testing any newly developed reports / business functionality.
  • Process measurement and capacity analysis, creation of key metrics.
  • Requirements gathering, solution building and full documentation of as-is and to-be, including proposals for process improvement.
  • Producing presentation material, using MS power point.
  • Working effectively as a senior team member within the Operations and Change team
  • Being an ambassador and subject matter expert for P2P across the Xchanging group.
  • Highly specified documents displaying detailed Production, Process and Service Definitions in line with the Xchanging Way
  • Management role within Operations and Change team.
  • Support, management and coaching for direct reports.
  • Super user in key processes within the full Production remit
  • Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications require


  • Oracle Package experience is essential. R12 upgrade desirable.
  • Experience of OCR Implementation.
  • Experience of working in an F&A function
  • High level of F&A technical understanding.
  • Experience in P2P processes and technologies
  • P2P expert accounts payable and purchasing expertise
  • Data and analysis expert.
  • Customer focused.
  • Experience of working with senior personnel
  • Highly competent IT Office package skills, in particular MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word, Outlook Email
  • Produce an excellent standard of succinct written material, highly literate
  • Work autonomously and remotely as a manager within the team.
  • Assertive whilst maintaining harmonious team, supplier and customer relationships.
  • Manager who develops effective and supportive relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Discreet, must be able to work confidentially and with sensitive data
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and prioritise effectively

  • Experience of F&A processes and systems.
