Team Profile

The role is part of a global power and renewables research team, providing market leading data, analysis, and insight for the global solar, wind, storage, and power markets.

Role Purpose

The Senior / Principal Analyst will be responsible for research and analysis in our growing Wind research practice, serving as our subject matter expert on Global Wind O&M and turbine technology.

They will conduct original quantitative and qualitative market research and deliver analysis through written reports, consulting, client inquiries, and speaking engagements.

As a part of Wood Mackenzie’s wind research team, the analysts serve clients who are responsible for the success of their firm’s O&M Strategies, competitive market positioning, O&M cost modelling, technology roadmaps and deployment strategies.

The Analyst corresponds with, presents to, and advises Asset owners, developers, turbine OEMs, Independent Service Providers and wind industry professionals on analysis regarding the changing landscape of the global wind O&M and technology markets.

The Analyst will focus on analysis of wind O&M and technology developments. This research will encompass market assessments, cost benchmarking and forecasting, strategy identification, supply chain support, and competitive analysis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Research and Analysis : Conduct primary and secondary desk research on global wind O&M, technologies, business models, market developments and financial impactsDeliver high quality research work and ensure client satisfactionLead and contribute to the research publications including but not limited to Lead author of the Annual Global Wind Turbine O&M Sector ReportKey contributor to the Annual Global Wind Supply Chain ReportContribute and lead relevant Research Notes and Flash Notes on O&M markets developmentsData Analysis Monitor and maintain relevant data for the O&M and technology segments, including costs, technology trends, corporate and market dynamics, and the competitive landscapeDevelop, update and maintain wind O&M databases, ISP databases, Turbine reliability and failure rates, logistics and O&M costs databases and contribute to P&R's growing base of data tracking and database-
  • oriented products and servicesDevelop O&M price and cost benchmarking models.Ensure the data quality and accuracy is continuously improved Networking and Industry collaboration Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the O&M segmentEstablish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker;
  • build relationships with senior industry professionals (vendors and utilities) as well as with the journalists who cover the sector;
  • and participate in vendor briefings and press inquiries as necessaryConsulting engagement Support and lead specific consulting assignments on O&M and technologyRender support for the projects led by other team members by contributing in data extraction and validation.

    Develop presentation material, summary tables, analytical tables for the projects.Maintain data confidentiality on sensitive data pertaining to the consulting projects and anonymity of information sources have to be maintained.

    Business Development Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to actively help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed researchPresent at WoodMac and industry-

    sponsored events, and moderate client webinarsEnsure that the research and consulting projects are executed and delivered with complete and accurate information quality within the set time limits
