Job Description

Opportunity for an electrical maintenance technician to work for a growing site who are part of a large global corporation.

They offer an excellent benefits package as well as secure employment having recently undertaken a large expansion project to double the output of part of their plant.

The role will involve working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) with a 10 day break every 3 rotations. Essentially working 12 shifts in a 30 day timeframe.

As the electrical maintenance technician, you will undertake a dual role being responsible for first-line breakdown maintenance and repair as well as overseeing and monitoring the continuous manufacturing process to ensure it performs to the required capability.

Your duties will include :

  • First line response to breakdowns (basic fault finding and repairs)
  • Responsibility for safe operation of a plant process via control room panels and instrumentation
  • Conducting detailed shift handovers
  • Application of site safety / environmental / quality processes
  • Issuing of work permits for operations within allocated area
  • To be successful in your application for the electrical maintenance technician position, you will need to have the following skills and experience :

  • Must hold a relevant electrical based qualification gained within manufacturing
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing / industrial environment
  • Must be comfortable with the dual nature of the role undertaking the operation of process equipment (instrumentation, control room panels, etc.
  • along with maintenance activities

  • Must be able to read engineering drawings
  • In return, the electrical maintenance technician will receive a salary of £36,000 - £41,000 (dependent on experience - including shift allowance) + defined benefit pension scheme, share incentive plan, private health care for employees and their families, etc.

    PLEASE NOTE - Initially you will start on days for a period of a few months while you undergo training onsite. At this stage, the salary would be circa £33,000 (dependent on experience) rising to the figures above when moving on to shift.
