A leading based, multi-profession construction consultancy that provides CDM services to various high end clients, is looking to add a new to their ever growing team of practitioners.

As the new Principal Designer, you would be required to help deliver the role as PD on large scale projects, advising Clients, lead designers and contractors on all aspects of health and safety.

The role of the Principal Designer

As the Principal Designer your main responsibilities will include :

  • Provide a role as Principal Designer for clients where required
  • Communicating effectively with contractors, designers and clients
  • Providing risk analysis of design plans
  • Reviewing and monitoring designers' compliance
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the pre-construction phase of projects
  • Ensuring designers and pre-construction team comply with CDM regulations 2015
  • Liaising with contractors regarding health and safety throughout construction phase.
  • The Successful Principal Designer

    The successful Principal Designer should ideally hold the following :

  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
  • Technical IOSH membership (minimum)
  • IMaPS membership (minimum)
  • Knowledge of Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015
  • Professional qualification in designing, building surveying discipline - Desirable
  • Ability to manage own time effectively, prioritise workload and ability to lead own projects
  • The Package of the successful Principal Designer :

  • Salary of up to £50,000 based on experience
