To provide an effective hands on engineering asset maintenance service in order to minimise unplanned downtime and ensure a safe and validated status.
Looking after a half-dozen production areas, the Maintenance Technician will be the first point of response to any issues that arise.
Health & Safety
To fulfill the health, safety and environmental obligations and functions of the role and responsibilities section of the HSE management system and local policies.
To ensure personal HSE adherence through continual risk assessment during execution of duties.
Compliance to the Hull operations engineering risk assessment.
Control of contractors through appropriate S&N procedures.
To ensure that assets comply with PUWER through assessment and completion of actions.
Where applicable compliance to specialist safety regulations for example DSEAR, IRR17, LOLER, confined space etc.
To perform all activities in compliance with relevant quality policies and procedures in line with auditing bodies.
Control change through effective use of the CCA system.
Adherence to training file procedure to ensure competency to relevant procedures.
To maintain the equipment condition to sustain the validated state where applicable.
To deliver improved equipment efficiency through implementation of world class asset management principles.
Ensure all preventative maintenance work is carried out in a timely and safe manner.
Effective root cause analysis on asset component failures with clear communication routes back to the customer
Timely breakdown response and escalation where required
To reduce the cost of maintenance through effective spares inventory management and planned maintenance expenditure reduction initiatives
To ensure the asset care maintenance budget is achieved.
Contribute to the site wide productivity initiatives.
To provide engineering support and motivation in order to deliver effective engineering support to the business.
To ensure that the company HR policies are adhered to.
To carry out the continuing professional development necessary to ensure competence and professional registration.
To coach, motivate and develop other team members to deliver a multi-skilled culture at all levels
To actively participate in the performance management process.
Must have served a recognized engineering apprenticeship and ideally trained to HNC level or equivalent preferably be experienced within an automated manufacturing environment.
A broad and robust knowledge of current best practice maintenance methodology.
Understanding of automated FMCG equipment and processes
The understanding and ability to interface with machine control systems including PLC’s, HMI’s, Scada systems.
The application of DC and AC drive and servo control systems.
The understanding of analogue and digital systems
Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam systems
Ideally CompEx certified
Microsoft office proficient
Must be able to demonstrate recognized root cause analysis and improvement skills
