    For the next 6 years as part of McLaren’s Track 22 plan, we are looking to invest £1 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 15 all-

    new cars or derivatives during this period.

    Purpose of the role :

    The primary purpose of the role is to analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities in all areas of the business, from order receipt to fulfillment.

    Ensure that business process improvement projects are implemented and benefits realised to improve overall safety, quality, and plant performance throughout the operation.

    Building the foundations within the assembly plant that will pave the way to a future full of continuous improvement initiatives

    Following stabilisation, facilitate and Participate in Kaizen / Rapid Improvement events. Train and coach plant personnel on the use of LEAN / Operational Excellence methodologies.

    Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques to optimize operations and the interaction between departments, to include

  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Process & Value Stream analysis
  • 5S / Workplace Organisation
  • Process Standardisation
  • The incumbent will build an in-depth knowledge of the end to end organization, business processes and internal stakeholder roles responsibilities via effective networking and learning.

    Implements effective sustainable solutions for problems arising, or for any opportunities across the whole of the business.

    That includes; forecast and supply demand, goods receipt, warehousing, line replenishment, Body, Paint, General Assembly and End of Line product quality assurance processes.

    Work to establish sustainable solutions and improvements of the Operation in the following areas :

  • Business processes
  • Systems and data platforms (MS Office inc Visio, ERP and interacting systems (SAP an advantage)
  • Cultural alignment to McLaren behaviours, values and business processes
  • Metrics / KPI’s / dashboards / business process health indicators

  • Identify and utilise the skills and abilities of employees at all levels
  • Plan and implement capital projects and business cases in support of improvement plans
  • Principal accountabilities :

  • Provide essential support to operations to achieve the daily volume & quality targets
  • Implement Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement throughout the organization using by
  • Lean and principles

  • Communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Influence and partner with plant personnel on improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate Kaizen, process mapping and rapid improvement events
  • Troubleshoot disconnects within business processes, manufacturing, quality, assembly
  • and back office support issues, using data driven analysis as well as on the floor’ interaction and in the office’ interaction

  • Define, refine and improve existing processes including; Manufacturing processes / procedures, new process development, creation of process documentation, product design for manufacture and assembly, capacity, efficiency and floor design, production processing and problem solving
  • It is expected that the role will reinforce the lean manufacturing and built in quality principles. It will also expand to include an operationally focused TQM approach such that on-

    time as planned delivery of the correct quantity of vehicles at the correct quality is achieved daily.

    As well as a manufacturing environment, MPC also acts as a marketing tool for the McLaren brand. As such delivery standards and material presentation, as well as workmanship and cultural behaviours need to be continually improved and maintained to very high standards.

    High personal standards and the ability to encourage and develop team behaviours is essential.

    Knowledge, skills & experience :

  • Highly analytical and able to identify improvement opportunities from in-depth analysis of complex data sets
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) knowledge and application experience is essential
  • Lean Sigma Green Belt Certified a distinct advantage along with demonstrable documented evidence of a wide range of Business Process Improvement interventions
  • Highly motivated to achieve success
  • Strong process control and adherence focus
  • A strong team player but used to working autonomously
  • Excellent influencing skills and empathy
  • Strong commercial awareness
