Manpower are looking for an Accommodation Officer to join our clients team on a temporary basis. The primary duties of the Accommodation Officer are : To oversee the housekeeping staff, ensuring that standards of cleanliness are maintained and that we have the appropriate amount of staff for the business levels;
Manage the key issue system, keeping an uptodate, accurate record of keys issued and returned. Responsibilities / duties Supervise the team of housekeeping staff and coordinate the provision of housekeeping across the Departments facilities.
The Accommodation Officer will manage the team of housekeeping staff (currently twelve parttime employees). This element of the role will include the following responsibilities : Supervise the housekeeping staff on a daytoday basis, providing support, training and guidance to maintain standards.
The post holder will be required to oversee their duties and compete checks to ensure that they work to the correct standard;
carry out daily checks on the accommodation, conference rooms and other facilities, completing the checklists, to ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained, addressing any issues that arise and giving any feedback to staff;
Follow the annual calendar of housekeeping tasks and update when new items arise. Report weekly on which items have been completed;
Ensure that the housekeeping team use agreed checklists to aid the completion of their work. The checklists should be used to focus their work for each week, the Accommodation Officer should assess what they have completed in recent weeks and together with the business levels, asses what can be completed in the coming week and guide the housekeepers accordingly;
ensure that the housekeeping team report maintenance issues, via the maintenance dockets as and when they arise (for example light bulbs, remote controls not working, dripping taps), and that these are dealt with promptly;
organise the rotas on a weekly basis for the housekeeping staff, arranging cover when required, noting that the Accommodation Officer is required to seek authorisation from the CFM or the DFA before engaging any additional staff or increasing staff hours;
manage the distribution of work between the housekeepers, ensuring they take responsibility for particular areas; assist in carrying out induction training, probationary reviews and appraisals for housekeeping staff with the support of the CFM;
be responsible for ordering items such as tea, coffee and milk supplies for the bedrooms, cleaning products and other disposables ;
carry out inventory checks and order equipment as and when required; manage linen stocks ensuring that we receive all linen back from the laundry company within the agreed time frames and check linen cleaning invoices;
Complete a weekly checklist to ensure all duties are carried out on a regular basis.
