We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Customer Documentation Engineer to join our Service and Aftersales team based in Woking, Surrey.

Reporting to the Senior Vehicle Documentation Specialist, the successful applicant will form part of a team providing Owners Manuals to McLaren’s future and current vehicle lines.

Principal accountabilities for position

  • To provide McLaren owners with accurate and up to date information relating the operation and understanding of McLaren vehicles
  • To lead the collation and creation of owner manuals
  • To create project specific customer documentation timing plans
  • Continue to monitor Engineering changes and understand the impact to customer documentation ensuring all documentation is kept up to date
  • To be the first point of contact for customer documentation issues
  • To liaise with our service partner staff, other McLaren Automotive departments, and suppliers, as required
  • Knowledge, skills and experience for position

  • An understanding of Automotive Vehicle operation
  • An understanding of Technical Documentation, Owner Manuals and Maintenance systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project etc.)
  • Conversant with CAD (Catia V5) an advantage but not essential
  • Project Management skills desirable
  • A suitable formal education via City & Guilds or equivalent, and an apprenticeship (extensive and suitable experience may be considered in lieu) is highly desirable
  • Personal attributes / behavioural skills for position

  • Well-presented and professional
  • Adaptable, quick thinking, decisive, showing strong initiative and self determination
  • Strong planning and good follow up skills and meticulous in detail.

  • Good team working habits
  • Confident with good interpersonal & communication (especially verbal & written) skills
