AECOM is recruiting a Project Accountant who will join our Project Finance team based from our centrally located offices in London on a 12 month fixed term contract
The role will see you being responsible for working with Project Managers and delivery teams in a specified end market and will monitor and analyse revenue to ensure relevant revenue recognition methods are used.
Job Duties :
Interface regularly with Project Managers and project delivery teams.
Monitor project performance and key indicators.
Support PMs as required in understanding project performance.
Monitor and analyses revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used.
Explain key project metrics and lead indicators.
Understand the impact on Revenue Recognition of any unusual contractual issues on projects within the portfolio.
Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up.
Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects.
Ensure that the company's internal controls are consistently applied, compliance with SOX.
Month end close, including project revenue adjustments, WIP and loss provision analysis.
We will consider any of our London offices for the location of this role, this will include St Albans, Wimbledon or Croydon.
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be resourceful, hands on and work both independently and as part of high-performing team
Some flexibility to work outside normal working hours to meet deadlines
Previous experience as a Project Accountant ideally working on a large portfolio
Extensive experience with percent complete revenue recognition method on consulting projects.
Experience of presenting finance material to Senior Leadership.
Active experience of working with Oracle Financials.
Experience with IFRS, US GAAP.
Experience of internal audit process reviews.
Ideally degree educated or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or similar.
Either qualified with AAT / ACCA / CIMA or working towards.
