My client based in the heart of Norwich are looking for a Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder to join their team on a temp to perm basis.
The products manufactured include :
Relatively simple galvanized steel ductwork cut on a CNC plasma machine
More complex fabricated ductwork transformations
High quality, face finished stainless steel fabrications including extraction canopies and other related items
The Role :
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, an experienced BWF Sheet Metal Worker will :
Interpret engineering drawings to set out patterns
Cut, fold, rivet and weld galvanized and stainless-steel sheet metal to manufacture individual and very small run parts
Safely operate a range of production machinery from a CNC plasma cutter to simple presses
Qualifications and Skills
This is a really interesting and highly varied role as we manufacture on a bespoke basis and no two projects are the same.
Whilst the successful candidate is most likely to be qualified to City and Guilds standards, this is not an absolute requirement if they are sufficiently qualified by experience.
Prior experience in a sheet metal environment which requires a closely related set of skills. This would include skills gained in any similar sheet metal engineering environment
Enthusiasm, willingness to be part of a team and rapidly learn to fill any gaps in prior knowledge
Ability to understand and translate a 2-dimensional CAD drawing into a 3-dimensional fabrication
Pay rate : £12.19 per hour (depending on ability and experience), with overtime at premium.
Hours of work 8 : 00 to 16 : 30 Mon to Thurs and 08 : 00 to 15 : 30 Fri
