We have a vacancy for a Shift Leader to join our production facility to lead and manage an Operations team that produce catalytic convertors servicing leading auto manufacturers.
The role is accountable for ensuring that all activities associated with the production line are completed to meet our customer requirements.
Working as part of a Value Stream within a fast-paced environment, you will coach and develop your team, ensuring a behaviour safety culture is fully embedded into the shift and that quality, lean and continuous improvements projects are driven through to completion.
The shift pattern follows a Late, Early, Night weekly rolling rota.
Ensure a proactive and responsible approach to Environment, Health & Safety is adhered to across the plant.
Resource the shift effectively to adhere to production plan, empowering Team Leaders and their teams to take initiative to meet targets and providing weekly / monthly reports on specific operating results.
Undertake strategic forward planning and scheduling to ensure optimum organisation of resources across the production areas to increase overall plant efficiency and minimise downtime, with awareness of the broader operations.
Maintain a high level of Quality and conformance to specification of the product manufactured by ensuring standard work is followed.
Coach and develop the Shift teams, managing performance, career aspirations and training plans. The Shift Leader is responsible for achieving high levels of employee engagement within Production.
Coach and drive continuous improvement within the team using the Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Accountable for creating and driving collaborative and positive working environments both within the Value Stream and outside of the Value Stream with Planning and Warehouse.
Are you the ideal candidate? You will have / be :
Previous line management experience ideally within a manufacturing production environment, with demonstrable experience coaching, developing and performance managing team members.
Possess a strong working knowledge of manufacturing and the related underlying theories and concepts.
Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities as well as excellent organisational, analytical and planning skills.
A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Good communication skills both verbally and written.
A competent user of Microsoft Office packages and SAP ERP systems would be highly desirable.
