ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Merchandiser to join the White Stuff family.

Based at our Head Office in Oval, London, this person will have overall responsibility for managing the range planning process, initiating, forecasting and maintaining the WSSI and developing and managing the team.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Drives Merchandising and Planning Strategy for the Accessories department
  • Proactively managing the stock coming into and flowing through the business
  • Overall responsibility for the trading of the department. Identifying risks and opportunities through OTB management with the Buying team
  • Responsible for sales line dept plans, space, margin and providing detailed category and options plans to the Buying team
  • Agree Responsible for sales and profit planning
  • Own seasonal range planning meetings with the Buyer and present plans with clear rationale
  • Provision of weekly reporting pack to include WSSI information
  • Monitor stock positions and trading performance of all options
  • Input into weekly Stock and Sales meeting to discuss relevant issues
  • Provide ongoing analysis of the buy, price point, colours, margin, etc
  • Manage gross and net margin through markdown management
  • Team management responsible for coaching and development of Assistant Merchandiser and Allocator
  • Deputise for Head of Merchandising and Merchandise Manager
  • Act as a role model to junior members of the Merchandising function and lead by example.
  • What you’ll need :

  • A strong merchandising background with experience of working as a Merchandiser within a fashion retail environment. Ideally, with experience in managing multiple departments and skus on an Accessories department in a fast paced environment.
  • Confident and self-motivated
  • Excellent organisation skills and forward planning, prioritisation and communication skills
  • The ability to negotiate and build relationships easily both within Merchandising and cross-functionally.
  • Experience of coaching and managing a team
  • Ability to be agile and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to be able to work in a top line manner as well as support at a more detailed level
  • Strong numerical ability with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
