Job Description : Financial Analyst

Purpose :

  • To maintain the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the financial accounting in accordance with HO accounting policy (Japanese GAAP) for London, Milan and Dubai Branches.
  • To meet Head Office reporting requirements.
  • To meet PRA, BOE & DFSA regulatory reporting requirements.
  • To provide local management accounting information to Dubai and Milan Branch
  • The Section comprises 5 staff and cover for all tasks is required. The team is structured so that each member of staff has primary & secondary responsibilities.

    To ensure cover can be operated effectively when the need arises, tasks will be rotated during the year. Each member of staff will be required to perform their secondary responsibilities for specified months.

    Your primary responsibilities are :

    1)Milan Branch :

  • Financial reporting including ensuring the integrity of the general ledger
  • Preparation reports for local management and Head Office
  • Liaison with other areas to resolve queries on the booking of transactions
  • Daily reconciliation between the financial accounting GL and the local regulatory reporting system
  • Training section staff to ensure there is cover across all areas
  • 2) Dubai Branch :

  • Financial reporting including ensuring the integrity of the general ledger
  • Preparation of reports for local management and Head Office
  • Training section staff to ensure there is cover across all areas
  • Preparation of the annual budget & monitoring variances
  • Preparation of quarterly & annual regulatory reports for the DFSA
  • Preparation of information for the annual DFSA audit
  • 3) London Branch :

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports for local management & Head Office
  • Cover for the preparation of regulatory returns for the Bank of England and UK PRA.
  • Your secondary responsibilities are :

    1) London Branch

  • Reconciliation of Financial Control accounts, including suspense accounts, non-nostro BS accounts and designated P&L accounts, including reporting of these items.
  • Preparation of Audit confirmation letters
  • Ensuring that procedures are kept accurate and up-to-date.
  • 2) General

  • Project work & ad hoc reporting as required.
  • 1)Strong basic accounting skills (essential)

    2)Good understanding of Financial Accounting systems (Sun Accounts desirable)

    3)Good IT skills (Excel essential)
