Heltwate School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible individual to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant initially in our Key Stage 4 and Post 16 provision at Heltwate’s St Georges site which is due to open in September.

The post requires you to support the teaching and learning of pupils with SEND, including challenging behaviour. Ideally you will have experience with working with young people from Reception age to Year 14.

We are seeking to appoint an individual to join our friendly and committed staff team who :

  • Has experience of working with children or young adults with additional
  • needs

  • Has a desire to help pupils with SEND achieve their full potential through
  • helping deliver a differentiated curriculum

  • Is enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative
  • Is friendly with a good sense of humour
  • Is calm and patient
  • Is effective communicators with pupils and staff
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Can work as part of a team as well as working effectively alone
  • Can form positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and
  • parents
