Job Purpose and Mission The role of the Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Manager contributes to ’ success by monitoring, maintaining and improving regulatory programmes to ensure the continuous supply of safe, wholesome and premium quality products to customers -
being a key contact for responding to EMEA market requests for product, beverage and food contact materials information.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Support the global nutrition and regulatory strategy by making region specific and implementing in EMEA markets.
Nutritional Information Management - Proactively horizon scan proposed nutrition-related regulatory changes in the EMEA market.
Present business-relevant policy changes to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Health & Wellness SME Shape and drive the H&W agenda for Starbucks, tracking nutritional improvements.
Approve customer-facing collaterals.
Support & work collaboratively with the regulatory and scientific affairs manager.
Work together with digital team to ensure that UK / EU distance selling and nutritional information requirements are fulfilled across all platforms.
Educate category / R&D on health implications of certain ingredients and products.
Serve as primary contact for Public Affairs, Ops and Marketing to contact regarding media queries on nutrition.
Attend and where necessary chair various meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Previous experience working in a technical capacity.
Ability to research, interpret and applying food and beverage regulations in the EU.
Calculating food and beverage nutritional information.
Collecting, reviewing, and managing technical product information.
Ability to consult with and influence various cross functional teams.
High level of knowledge in current EU nutrition labelling requirements and the FIC.
Experience working within a regulatory role in food consultancy, manufacturing / food service or food retail environment.
Able to use and navigate nutrition software program (e.g. ESHA Genesis).
Strong team player, able to work on own and use initiative to find solutions.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners concisely.
Ability to navigate through ambiguous and unstructured situations.
Ability to analyse information in a structured manner and prepare coherent communication, both internally and externally.
High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
There may be a small amount of travel depending on the needs of business.
