Oracle’s most elite team (the A-Team) is seeking a highlyenergetic Solution Architect and thought leader for a mission critical divisionof the organization. We are Oracle s elite outbound arm of developmentresponsible for helping our customers achieve success with our products andservices. The role involves contributing to and leading multidisciplinary projectsfocused on architecting, designing, and prototyping complex cross-productsolutions involving Oracle Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service(PaaS), and Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) for our most prestigiouscustomers.
The position entails a high level of internal and external visibility withsenior management. The Solution Architect is responsible for structuring andleading complex, strategic internal and external engagements involvingcoordination across teams and products, innovative use of Oracle s CloudDevelopment products and tools, and establishing a regular feedback channelinto the Development organization resulting in product improvements andinnovations.
TypicalDuties and Responsibilities include: Design complex and innovativesolutions leveraging Oracle Cloud offerings to address critical businessrequirements of our customers. Assess cloud solutions either inpre-sales or post-sales stages and provide guidance to involved internal andexternal parties to ensure successful implementations and uptake of bestpractices. Manage competing, quickly changingpriorities effectively and handle input from many internal and external collaboratorsand stakeholders. Structure and execute plans for agiven project in challenging environments with a minimum of guidance. Closely collaborate with highcaliber peers and a variety of teams and groups in a highly dynamicenvironment. Identify recurring patterns andsolutions and generalize these for broader re-use across the entire ecosystem. Identify common pain points inOracle products and Solutions, and propose alternatives to improve them. Establish relationships and feedbackchannels into product management and product engineering ultimately resultingin product improvements and innovations.

The Solution Architect must have communicationskills (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicatewith customers, succinctly articulate business impacts, translate technicalinformation into layperson and business terms, concisely storyboard complexproblems, solutions, and approaches in a manner appropriate for executives,develop frameworks, templates, and high-quality pragmatic deliverables that canbe carried forth and executed by project teams, and articulate and demonstrategaps in our products based on real world customer use cases. He or she hasproblem solving skills with the ability to develop and analyzeoptions/hypotheses objectively, applies industry-leading practices, andfacilitates negotiations/discussions involving groups of diverse stakeholders. Desired Qualifications, Skills, andExperience Strong understanding of OracleAnalytics offering (OAC, OAAC) and how to best architect solutions that canrely on a 100% cloud architecture or hybrid on-premises / cloud designs. Strong technical skills and a systemwide vision including all aspects of the Analytics ecosystem in the Cloud. Strongexperience in integrating Oracle Analytics (including Essbase) with cloud andon-premises databases as well as current Oracle SaaS products; Experienced in designing complex andlarge-scale cloud projects, ideally spread across a variety of industries andfunction domains. Strong understanding and hands-onexperience in Oracle PaaS and IaaS related technologies such as dataintegration, databases, security, storage, compute, and networking (includingVPN). Highly motivated, self-starter witha quick learning style and a strong ambition to remain up to date with currenttechnologies and trends. Exceptional analytical and criticalreasoning skills capable of flexible and lateral thinking. Ability to strongly lead technicaldiscussions with customers, partners, and other Oracle teams. Understanding of Open source andnon-Oracle products and solutions. Inclination to coach throughtraining, public forums, blogs, and conferences. Highly developed interpersonal,verbal communication and presentation skills; demonstrated comfort level forpresentations to senior leadership level meetings. Work with and across all levelswithin the business to develop the best solution to an issue/business needrequired. BasicQualifications A master’s degree in InformationTechnology, Computer Science or related field or a Bachelor’s Degree andcomparable experience in software development, information technology, and/ordata architecture. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
