We are looking for a driven Accounting Team Manager to join our ever changing Finance Team on an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract, based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
Job Purpose :
The main purpose of the role is to lead and manage the EMEA Accounting team within the EMEA Shared Service Centre of Envigo.
The Manager will lead a team of local accountants helping to ensure a strong control environment whilst delivering first-
class service levels to their business partners.
As well as day to day accounting responsibilities, this role will assume responsibility for providing clear risk analysis and Balance Sheet management, ensuring compliance to local GAAP and government regulations and that revenue recognition is properly accounted for.
To act as first level support and project lead on the implementation of improved accounting software and processes and the sustainment of a strong, fluid, efficient and motivated team through the creation of an environment that drives development through cross-
training, shared goals and open communication.
This role is a leadership position, providing coaching and mentoring to the team, to support them in achieving their goals, short and long term, discovering their training needs, coaching them towards success and ensuring they are up to date with the latest external legislation.
Management of UK based Accounting team in the production of accurate, efficient and timely monthly reporting, including support for variance analysis and commentaries
Review and validate the analysis of EMEA Inventory movements and any commentary provided ensuring it fully explains the current position
Control the reporting process and ensure that all results are reporting in line with company policies, best practice, tight reporting deadlines and local GAAP
Provide monthly reports to management including AR reports, backlog reports, accounting adjustment reports and other key insights raised from P&L reviews
Project management of new process improvements / system changes
Collaborate with auditing services both internal and external to ensure proper compliance with all regulations, in conjunction with Corporate accounting and local operating companies
Create a positive work environment that fosters team and individual performance while enhancing accountability, to generate a complement pipeline of talented professionals
To track the team KPI’s for the Balance sheet performance and open items, reporting on the team performance and evidencing the successes
Measures of Performance
Adherence to month end deadlines
Status of reconciliations and swift resolution of differences / reconciling items
Timely submission of all corporate reporting in line with the timetable
Limitation of post year-end adjustments on financial statements and audit issues
On time tax payments
Background & Skill :
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent)
Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Evidence of delivering strong results and process improvements in a fast-moving environment
Good analytical and organisational skills with clear personal development goals and career aspirations
