Sector : FMCG Location : Middlesex, UK Position : FTC Senior Buyer- Ingredients / Commodities (1 year) Salary level : Up to £40k + Car and Benefits A global market leader in the Food FMCG sector is looking for an experienced ingredients buyer to join their regional procurement team on a 12 Month FTC.
This ambitious buyer will be immediately take ownership of an ingredients category and implement the initiatives of the global procurement team in a regional remit across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
This role requires entrepreneurial spirit, strong stakeholder engagement and hands-on procurement skills. The ideal candidate must be forward-
thinking and supportive of business change and procurement transformation and recognise that this is a great opportunity to build your profile in a global business. Responsibilities
Manage Financial Reporting, Operational Planning and end to end procurement for your category (such as Flavours, Chemicals etc)
Converting the Regional category strategy to a sourcing and action plan, executing contract management across your category remit
Manage a spend of c.£12-15m and a supply base across the UK & Europe
Drive and deliver cost savings projects for the region, unlock value through expert analysis and strategy development
Work in collaboration with Global Procurement team and Regional Manufacturing teams and those based on site.
10-20% Travel to Suppliers and Manufacturing sites within the UK Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement / Purchasing (Food ingredients or commodities essential)
Industry experience in FMCG, Retail or Food Service sector- understanding of working in a complex environment
Strong experience managing categories across a region and / or multiple geographies
Degree educated (Masters’ Degree advantageous) or relevant professional experience, CIPS advantageous
Strategic category experience (strategy to execution) essential
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and relationship building skills
Independent right to live and work in the UK My client is looking to interview before the end of June and have the successful candidate in situ by July 2018.
