About the team :

We’re looking a highly creative, hyper-collaborative team player who has a strong background and track record in content creation to join the branded content team at Refinery29.

They will be able to concept great ideas and deliver top-notch execution in the Refinery29 tone of voice and aesthetic.

They should be a confident storyteller and be able to articulate their concepts and ideas succinctly and compellingly. They should be bursting at the seams with ideas (written features, photo shoots, video, experiential, social etc), with a general passion and, ideally experience in, fashion, lifestyle & beauty brands.

The successful candidate will be able to read a brand partners brief and come up with exciting and engaging ideas that ladder up to the brand's strategy and objectives, but retain all Refinery29 content ethos and learnings.

They will need to have editorial content principles at the heart of everything they deliver to ensure the content they create is audience first and, therefore, successful.

They will have strong experience of writing features / articles, editing, art direction and commissioning. They should be able to get’ the Refinery29 aesthetic and tone of voice and ensure this is integrated this into everything they create from all content to physical experiences.

They will be supported by a Creative Lead and very collaborative creative team to mentor and support them, but also given freedom to lead projects alone.

They will need to work closely with strategy, sales and production teams, as well as the rest of the creative team. They will really have their finger on the pulse when it comes to popular culture and know what young women are talking about and how to communicate with them and truly thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same.

They should love juggling numerous balls whereby they may be on set art directing a shoot one day, but still having an eye on all the fact they need to get their moodboard over to a client for another project and manage a contributor’s work, but also continue to be excited about the fact a new brief has come in that demands some great creative thinking.

This team is non stop and are required continuously to deliver content each and every day, but also pitch great ideas.

Lastly, they need to have endless ideas and positivity, a can-do attitude and believe that there is a creative solution for every problem thrown their way.

What you’ll accomplish here :

  • Pitching and delivering large-scale, multi-platform / multi-medium briefs (thismeans coming up with concepts for editorial, photo, video, social,experiential, etc.)
  • Be a part of a creative team who concepts and delivers up large, best in class multi-disciplinary projects for clients.
  • Create industry-leading levels of of aesthetic excellence and storytelling standard that truly speaks to our audience and creates impact.
  • Have room to grow, develop and learn as a creative and become an expert in modern media branded content.
  • Understand and execute the R29 brand & business vision, creating projects that deliver for R29 clients, brand, and audience
  • Source, commission and collaborate with great creative talent across the industry.
  • Partner with leaders across the business in editorial, production, strategy, marketing and sales to develop strong campaigns and ensure we're collaborating to create the best work.
  • What you’ll do :

  • Work with sales and strategy teams to ideate and pitch innovative, integrated content campaigns that are rooted in strategic insights, to ultimately deliver exciting ideas.
  • Pitch 360 concepts to clients that could translate to video, content, social and beyond across all verticals
  • Be comfortable and confident sharing creative ideas with clients and confident in client facing meetings.
  • Possess an understanding of how to craft and execute compelling content for our brand partners, delivering on their business objectives while finding creative solutions for their biggest brand challenges in the Refinery29 way.
  • Execute and manage branded content for multiple disciplines from idea to execution.
  • Create meaningful relationships with R29 client brands, owning their projects and communication (with the support of Creative Lead if needed) inpre-
  • production and on set.

  • Be a key player in brainstorms and feel confident sharing ideas with a team
  • Collaborate with editorial, marketing, sales, account management, PM, brand strategy and sales to drive custom content campaigns, processes and workflows to success.
  • Commission and bring in fresh and exciting talent to execute the branded content on brand and to best in class standard.
  • What you have :

  • 4 + years in content creation with either experience in branded content or a strong strategic understanding of applying editorial to branded content.
  • A passion for and experience in working with lifestyle, tech, fashion & beauty brands.
  • Confidence to script social / online videos and feel comfortable executing them from storyboard to post production.
  • A keen eye for art direction, visuals, copy and editing
  • Client facing experience
  • True understanding of the branded content strategy and space and be ability to create conceptual ideas that meet brand strategies and briefs
  • Experience with channel strategy from a creative perspective is ideal, and heavy experience in digital is a huge plus
