Have you got a background in account management within the travel sector? Do you have experience negotiating contracts? As a Head of Transportation, you will be a driving force behind building and sustaining air supply partnerships within North Europe that will give Expedia Group a competitive position in market based on the breath, depth, pricing and differentiation of our product offering.

You will be responsible for building strong commercial partnerships with key airlines in Northern Europe, being their advocate and providing market feedback and industry trends to internal stakeholders.

What you’ll do :

  • Handle Global, Regional and Local commercial air supplier relations within point of sale Northern Europe
  • Assist the Director of Commercial Services and Strategy, Northern Europe to deliver annual Strategic Plan for relevant point of sales with Northern Europe including process, assessment of market / industry trends through data gathering and analysis, prioritizing
  • Liaise with other divisions within the Global Commercial Strategy and Services (CSS) teams (Operations, Retail, Product, Technology, Customer Operations teams) to help drive the achievement of Net Revenue goals across Air Line of business, and take on any operational issues
  • Work with point of sale (POS), Competitiveness team and Revenue Management team to complete regular fare shops analysis and work on margin when necessary to ensure Expedia remains competitive in market
  • Participate in supplier events, industry events and speaking engagements to share and acquire deep industry knowledge, forming long-
  • term, influential relationships in the process.

  • Negotiate contracts and overrides with these suppliers on an ongoing basis. Monitor performance of Air accounts, conduct monthly / quarterly reviews and sales presentations
  • Develop and execute business strategies for air supply product to optimize each partner relationship to position Expedia Group as the partner of choice
  • Grow revenue generated within Northern Europe by working on initiatives and new revenue streams that improve key business metrics and profitability
  • Who you are :

    You’ll fit this role if you have :

  • Travel and / or Airlines industry experience and knowledge of GDSs.
  • Proven sales & negotiation experience : particularly identify prospective partners, and negotiate successfully in a dynamic, consultative, and collaborative manner
  • Excellent analytical skills, including demonstrated capacity to solve complex problems and an intense curiosity to identify emerging business trends and ensuing needs
  • A strategic approach with the ability to recognize trends and develop new plans to accelerate business growth
  • Strong communications skills : abilities to include conveying, receiving and interpret ideas and information, influence partner decisions and presents information appropriately to a wide and diverse range of audiences
