Are you an experienced electrical technician with excellent skills in repairing and operating electrical equipment? Do you have a relevant apprenticeship, qualification or experience?
Do you have industry experience working on a wide variety of electrical systems and devices?
The UK Atomic Energy Authority have an excellent opportunity for an electrical technician to join their Tokamak Support and Documentation team within the JET operations department.
The team consists of circa 8 employees and are responsible for the procurement, maintenance and operation of key safety and security systems for the operation of JET, and supporting the operations team through providing shift cover.
Key accountabilities / responsibilities include working across may different groups to find faults and repair on key safety and security related equipment as well as providing occasional shift cover for the operations team
The UKAEA hosts and manages the JET nuclear fusion energy experiment on behalf of the EU and is also home to the UK s MAST-
U fusion energy experiment. UKAEA also works with industry and other third parties to develop new technologies currently in Remote Handling and Materials research.
Following recent UK funding two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation are being built.

Special requirements : This role will require occasional shift work to cover for incident response officers (training will be given).
