About the role :
Wolseley are recruiting a number of fantastic opportunities for Part Qualified Accounts Assistant sto join our Ripon Head office.
You will be responsible for owning the collation, preparation and input of financial data to agreed timetable and in accordance with Wolseley Group policies and be go to person for queries related to allocated area.
You will also be responsible for :
Manage the month end input and timetable for allocated area of responsibility providing support for more junior colleagues in achieving all required tasks and ensuring receipt of all input from external finance stakeholders is received as required.
Review and provide balanced feedback on the work done by junior colleagues. Contribute to development of junior colleagues through mentoring and support.
Pro actively identify and assist with implementation of process improvements and opportunity for value add within finance team.
Proactively work with other finance teams in Ripon and Leamington Spa to resolve identified issues and improve month end practices.
Preparation of department reports within agreed deadlines.
Completion of tasks to ensure compliance with Wolseley Base Financial Controls and audit requirements.
Answer queries on financial data from business stakeholders.
Assist with operational stakeholder training days. Feedback on issues from training days and put together appropriate strategy for resolution.
Undertake balance sheet reconciliations as required and review reconciliations undertaken by junior colleagues.
What we are looking for :
Studying towards a financial qualification
Previous finance experience
Pro active / demonstrates initiative. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
Demonstrates good knowledge of the Wolseley UK business.
Objective, maintains unbiased approach and displays integrity at all times.
Good communicator (both written and in verbal form to a wide variety of audiences
Flexible, able to consistently meet deadlines / consistently motivated and focused on delivery.
Can work pro actively either independently or as part of a team.
Provides appropriate solutions to problems.
