Due to continued growth, my client has an immediate opportunity for an experienced "hands-on" Quality Engineer to join their established team.

Purpose of Role :
The Quality Engineer will contribute to the maintenance of Quality Standards at all stages of the production process and take lead in various Quality Processes & Procedures to ensure 100% compliance and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have experience of castings OR close tolerance, high precision CNC machining.
YOU MUST be an hands-on Quality Engineer willing to get your hands dirty as and when required.
The Successful Candidate will have :
Demonstrable experience as a hands on Quality Engineer in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment
Experience of Castings OR Close Tolerance, High Precision CNC Machining
Familiar with Auditing Procedures
Sound working knowledge and understanding of Quality standards
Detailed knowledge and understanding of inspection & metrology
Problem Solving Techniques / Methodology
Understanding of Production Processes & Procedures
Knowledge and Understanding of Quality Assurance Framework
Able to read, interpret and understand Engineering information
Experience of 80 / 20 (Desirable)
Continuous Improvement and 5s mind set
Responsibilities Overview :
Perform Product or Process troubleshooting as necessary
Run NCN system and ensure maintenance of the system.
Raise 8Ds on Supply base for any non-conformances (internal customers and external customers) & obtain responses in a timely manner to ensure effective closure
Carry out in house containment activities, manage quarantine and logs accordingly
Communications with supply base and ensure compliance to customer requirements
Carry out sample inspection on goods in
Be first point of contact for Production issues and ensure this is communicated accordingly.
Carry out Supplier Audits / Visits
Undertake internal Audits
Lead in the analysis and disposition of non-conforming material.
Work using a PDCA structure seeking real root cause, implement / verify corrective actions and read across lessons learnt.
Set up a standard work routine to align to preventative as opposed to reactive actions.
Observe and analyse current methods, processes and make recommendations to bring about improved process / product quality, work simplification and cost reduction.
Using input from field data / customers and internal non-conforming material as well as other pertinent sources regarding product quality, develop and implement plans to control and monitor quality improvements.
Work with plant resources to meet monthly and annual key metrics.
Liaise with all Suppliers and Customers building strong key relationships.
Draft, advise and implement quality standards, process and procedures throughout the organisation ensuring quality improvements
Contribute and advise on calibration, tolerances and test parameters.
Manage inspection & testing methods and procedures
Preparation of all quality reports and proposals providing recommendations wherever necessary
To impart and establish external quality systems / checks prior to delivery
Implement continuous improvements through setting KPI's and data management
