About Birmingham Oldbury Hospital

PDSA hospital Birmingham Oldbury The Marian & Christina Ionescu Centre for Surgical Excellence - is purpose built and opened in July 2015.

It is the 24 hour out of hours’ hospital for the West Midlands and provides excellent facilities equipped to a high standard.

Our night work is undertaken on site by Vets Now.

About the Role

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a permanent part time basis to work on a two week rolling rota which incorporates every other weekend on the following rota pattern :

Week one : 15.5 hours a week, weekend off

Week two : 32.5 hours a week including Saturday and Sunday 8.45 6.15pm.

Your role will be to deliver an efficient, consistent professional and caring service, to provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst also promoting pet wellbeing and delivering preventive services.

  • About You

    The successful candidate will be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, involved in all aspects of theatre practise, consultations, dispensary and providing high standards of inpatient care.

  • You will be a vital part of an established team, working with vets and nurses with VCA support and will help to encourage financial contributions from clients;
  • making sure PDSA resources are used appropriately. You will be responsible for updating your knowledge by attending funded CPD training and this role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a challenging and varied medical and surgical caseload in a highly supportive environment, enabling you to use your nursing skills to their full potential including carrying out schedule 3 procedures.
