About the role :
You will be accountable for the all KPIs and targets for Categories valued at below £100m.This will be achieved through devising and implementing a Category plan, detailing strategy and tactics to deliver targeted KPI’s across all WUK channels.
Disciplined and proactive management of the supplier base and a clear appreciation the customer needs, as well as competitor and market performance.
You will also be responsible for :
Leading the development of a cross functional category plan for a number of categories, which includes long-term development strategies in order to deliver the appropriate market position and agreed KPI’s.
Devising, implementing and monitoring a robust and detailed tactical plan to deliver the Category strategies and financial targets.
Working cross-functionally with other internal stakeholders to ensure delivery and implementation of the Category plan.
Accountable for the leadership of the Category management matrix team. This may include people development, coaching, sharing best practise and succession planning in order to deliver a culture of continuous personal improvement.
Overall accountability for the creation and management of strategic supplier relationships, as well as working with the Wolseley Strategic Supplier Manager in order to maximise results from the strategic supplier joint business plan.
Working cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain & Operations teams to implement Category strategies and tactics. As well as liaising with Merchandising team, develop and implement Category merchandising plans for both core range and promotions.
Accountability for all Category supplier terms negotiations and accountability for assuring that all products meet all statutory, quality and legal standards.
Optimisation of Category performance through the robust rationalisation of suppliers and products.
Accountability for the range architecture so that the ranges meet customer segmentation requirements, that are complimentary to the overall WUK range guidelines.
Accountable for delivering the pricing index for the Categories, as well as being accountable for trade and shelf price and awareness and analysis of main competitors and market landscape.
Devising exit and implementation strategies and tactics for removing discontinued lines to ensure overall Category stock holding targets are delivered.
What we are looking for :
Previous Category Management / Assistant experience would be highly desirable.
Experience and knowledge related to the development of internal and external networks
Able to influence key stakeholders at a range of different levels inside and outside the organisation
Ability to negotiate commercial terms at a strategic level
Advanced commercial and numeracy skills
Able to deliver against challenging targets and results
B2B and / or B2C experience
Analytical skills in order to interpret complex information pertaining to market changes and competitor activity
Ability to make commercial decisions at speed and implement outputs across the business
