Description :

This is a 3-month summer internship starting June / July 2019 to support the Project Controls Function in our Major Programmesand Projects Group.

As a project controls intern you will be a confidentcommunicator, willing to engage with project personnel at all levels of ourorganisation.

You are required to provide administrative and analytical supportto various projects in our portfolio to enable senior leadership teamsunderstand project delivery performance, risk exposure and profitability.

With the guidance of lead project controls staff, you will gainan understanding of the core disciplines of the project controls function toinclude estimating, planning and scheduling, contract management, costmanagement, earned value management, risk management, document control andreporting.

You will have excellent IT, organisational and data managementskills and with guidance be responsible for the collection, analysis andreporting of key project performance and financial data in accordance withproject timelines, contract obligations and financial cycles.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be aself-starter who enjoys a deliverables approach to work and able to interactwith all levels of staff in a fast-

paced environment. Training will be providedon all systems and analytical tools in use. You will participate in ourinduction, safety training and job-

related training as and when required.

Core Skills

You must have a keen interest and core skills in developing dataanalytics products and relational-databases using advanced Excel functionalityand queries using VBA, SQL or equivalent.

You must be passionate aboutmonitoring and analysing project performance and generating visual andgraphical outputs to communicate this to others.

  • Preparationof project, contract and business performance metrics and reports

  • PreparingTemplates in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, OneNote,SharePoint
  • Improvingexisting data analysis tools and templates
  • Qualifications

    You must be currently in your penultimateyear at university studying for an undergraduate

    degree in construction management,engineering, project management, finance or related

  • Fluentin written and spoken English

  • Location & Travel

    Your home office base is London and travelto other Jacobs, client, partner and project offices may be required, so flexibilityto travel is essential.

    Travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with ourcorporate expense policy.
