Description : An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary. You will provide comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative service to consultants and associated teams.

Organise consultant workloads and provide main point of contact between clinical staff and service users. The role is diverse and involves a significant amount of responsibility combined with exercising a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy and tact.

You need excellent communication skills both verbal and written with internal and external medical staff to communicate confidential information.

You are responsible for prioritising and scheduling your workload. You should have an HNC in Secretarial / Business Administration or equivalent work based experience and has proficient use of software programmes / IT skills.

You should know advanced medical terminology and have advanced keyboard skills. You should have highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work flexibly and use own initiative and also have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals, patients and relatives.

You should be able organise, prioritise and work to deadlines and be able to in stressful situations and work in a pressurised environment.

Compliance with Departmental and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Polices and Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Caldicott Guidelines It is essential that you have an HNC in Secretarial / Business Administration or equivalent work based experience.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm. (60 minute lunch) Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm (30 minute lunch) PLEASE READ AND SAVE THE CANDIDATE APPLICATION PACK BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION.
