Main duties and responsibilities

Due to massive site investment Kronospan has exciting opportunities for Electrical Instrumentation Technician. This is a full time, permanent positions with minimum expected earnings of £30,000+.

Hours of work : 08.00 - 16.30 (Mon to Fri)

The Electrical Instrumentation Technician role

To provide Instrumentation, Electrical and Control support to the manufacturing plant

  • Carry out maintenance, repair and inspection of Instrumentation, Electrical and Control, equipment across all departments.
  • Provide technical support to the operations team.
  • Assist in the development of Calibration and Inspection procedures and systems.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the maintenance management system.
  • Carry out plant modifications in accordance with drawings, standards and work instructions.
  • Carrying out unplanned maintenance as instructed.
  • Maintaining accurate inspection and test records to comply with current legislation and plant safety and quality requirements.
  • Fault finding and rectification for instrumentation systems.
  • Assisting operations in diagnosing process problems and failures.
  • Providing information to the projects team to support process improvements.
  • Liaising with outside contractors and specialists to monitor work done and develop on-site knowledge.
  • Responsibility to maintain the compliance of ATEX certified equipment used in hazardous areas.

  • All works to comply with current UK legislation, engineering standards and plant HSE requirements.
  • Requirements

  • Technical qualification (or pending) in engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of all engineering aspects of plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of site standards and statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessment and Management of Change.
  • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory responsibilities, potential enforcement actions and maintains systems for compliance.
