What are we looking for?

As part of our Project Management division, we have an opportunity for a Projects & Resources Master Scheduler to join us on a 6 month contract basis, with the potential to be extended.

What does the role entail?

  • Reporting into the Director of Programmes (but working directly with Project Managers) the master scheduler will be responsible for bringing scheduling expertise to deliver consistent and accurate Project Schedules for the more complex L3 TRL projects.
  • The role will also require preparation and guidance for Earned Value Management (EVM) and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) on major programmes.

  • Working closely with the Project Managers, Resource Managers and Delivery Assurance to ensure project schedules follow best practise and are created in a consistent manor and appropriately detailed, resourced and maintained in accordance with L3 TRL project management standards and processes.
  • To provide support to Project / Programme / Portfolio Managers in the production and review and assessment of L3 TRL projects;
  • plans, issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring all key items are accurately reflected in project schedules and corresponding resource plans.

  • This role extends to running resource aggregations from the current and forward schedules to drive efficient resource management and skills heat-maps.
  • What skills will I need to be successful?

  • Experience of project planning, costing, risk-management and change management including working within a Project Office environment.
  • Highly computer literate including MS Office and MS Project skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams and managing relationships with all levels of the business.
  • Full project lifecycle experience including the practical and effective use of formal project and risk management tools and methodologies.
  • Detailed knowledge of Earned Value management
  • Detailed knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis.
  • What additional skills would be desirable?

  • Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Defence sector experience.
  • FulMonte SRA / Deltech COBRA tools

    What else do I need to know?

    All of our roles require successful candidates to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard and / or United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) to obtain a Security Check (SC) without restrictions.
