The successful candidate will join a growing team of CMOS analog IC design engineers to develop class leading power management ICs in Peregrine’s UltraCMOS SOI technology.

This will include feasibility studies, design and evaluation, as well as liaising with product engineering functions. The position reports to the European PMIC Design Manager and is based in Reading, UK but may involve occasional travel overseas.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for :

  • Product Definition : Assist Marketing in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses.
  • Product Design and Evaluation : Schematic Capture, IC layout, Simulation, Package Analysis, Evaluation Board Design, Design Validation.
  • Product Documentation : Document all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage.
  • Production ATE Development : Work with Test Engineers to ensure testability is incorporated in the product during design.
  • Project Management Plan and manage development resources and schedules.

    The following traits are highly valued :

  • Knowledge of power management IC design, Switch Mode Regulators, Buck and Boost Regulators
  • Software tools : Cadence Composer, Cadence Virtuoso, Verilog-AMS, C
  • Positive attitude be willing to use experience, reasoning and judgment to make decisions in the absence of complete information.
  • Also, should be willing to take on tasks outside their formal job description in order to help progress team goals.

  • Strong team player willing to both teach and learn where appropriate and actively engage in constructive team debate with a focus on improving team results.
  • Education Requirements

  • BSc (Hons) or higher in Electronics, Physics or related disciplines
  • 2 years IC design experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
