Job Description

The Regional Technical Director is part of the Office of the CTO, a cross functional team which will work collaboratively across Zuora Engineering, Operations, Security, Product, Sales, Support, Global Services, and Customer Success organizations to ensure a consistent voice for Zuora’s technology functions and empower Zuora’s customer-

facing functions to address customer technology concerns as effectively as possible.

The Regional Technical Director EMEA is a senior leadership role based in Zuora’s London office and will be a key partner from the Technology team to Zuora field-

facing teams and customers in the region.

The ideal candidate will have a mix of customer, technology, and business acumen and must be able to quickly establish credibility with customers across the scope of technical areas related to the delivery of Zuora’s service including Technical Operations, Security, Architecture, and Engineering, and use that to develop a deep understanding of the challenges customers are facing.

The person will use this intelligence to further develop field-enablement collateral and training, and work with Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmaps based on strategic customer feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key point of contact for technology leadership in the EMEA region, both pre- and post-sales, related to
  • Technical Operations including SLAs, Performance, Disaster Recovery, and Compliance
  • Security
  • Platform testing, implementation, and integration
  • Questions on architectural roadmap
  • Escalations where needed
  • Candidate must build a deep understanding of the company’s technical vision and underlying architecture and convey the particulars of that vision and architecture to our customers and sales organization
  • Develop a program for field-enablement including
  • Technical documentation to support the field teams
  • Creation and maintenance of sales-enablement collateral
  • Function as the senior liaison from the Technology team for EMEA for the Product Management organization to develop a backlog of highly requested features and capabilities, including specific regional requirements, for the product and engineering organizations
  • Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in senior-level technology roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field of study
  • Expert technical skills including experience with security and compliance, tech ops, engineering, and product management
  • Deep experience developing technical documentation a plus
  • Experience with SOC2 and PCI certification curriculum, EU GDPR a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills; builder of strong relationships across functions
  • Driven, with an ability to learn quickly and make independent decisions
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel up to 50% within EMEA and with US stakeholder teams
