We are looking for a nanny or experienced au pair (ideally live-in) to look after our three children (girl aged 10 and boys aged 7 and 18 months) in Shepherds Bush, West London from the beginning of December.
Our children are out-going, bright, sporty, good-natured and like to laugh a lot. We need someone who will be flexible, energetic, reliable and above all fun for them to be around.
Our family is relaxed although busy, with two full time jobs and two different schools in the mix. So we are looking for someone who will fit in to a full routine, someone who will make life interesting and educational for the children and above all someone who will provide continuity and a sense of fun and become part of the family.
As both parents work full time, the job will be sole charge Monday to Friday 7.30am-7pm, requiring whoever joins us to be happy to work independently.
During term time the job will involve walking the older children to and from their schools, organising their kit and helping with homework.
During the school day, you would be expected to take the toddler to playgroups and stimulate them at home, cooking meals and doing bath time.
We would need you to be flexible and proactive and be happy to organize the children’s activities and play-dates independently.
The children will need help with school projects and homework but this needs to be done with a sense of fun to build confidence.
During the school holidays there will be several long weekends and weeks a year where you will be off altogether when we are away.
Both children love the outdoors and sport, so we would like whoever is looking after them to be happy to play football or cricket with them and their friends, take them swimming and for bike rides etc.
The job will include 1 nights babysitting per week, cooking and cleaning for the children (we have a cleaner who does general housework), and running occasional errands for us.
We would like someone who will be able to fit straight in to this busy west London family house while bringing out-going and nurturing skills to three bubbly kids.
We need the individual to be confident enough to give the children firm boundaries and reinforce the importance of manners and respect both children have a good foundation in this, but can be cheeky and are liable to push the boundaries if they feel that they can ! The children are sociable and we have lots of friends and so we would like the person to enjoy spending time with others, and to be happy to socialize with other nannies and mothers.
We need someone to start at the beginning of December, with completely fluent English, experience with children and ideally a clean driving license and DBS check.
For the sake of the children, we need someone who can commit to at least 18 months with us (we have had only 3 nannies in ten years).
Holidays / days off are to be taken during school holidays and only by prior agreement. We are away most weekends in the countryside and very occasionally we might ask you to come with us to help, and also once or twice per year we would ask you to cover weekends or overnights if we are away with work.
Ideally we are looking for someone to be live-in you would have your own double bedroom (with wifi and cable TV) and a bathroom at the top of our house, although we could consider somebody who lives locally to Shepherds Bush and wants to live out.
If you are interested in the job, please apply with your CV, a covering letter explaining why you would like to join us, and two referees that are happy to be called by telephone.
We would need you to be available for a face-to-face interview mid November. Please only apply if you genuinely love children, have childcare experience, speak fluent English and can commit to staying for over 18 months. Salary negotiable.
