The role of the Senior Housing Support Worker will be to provide direct support to the residents to enable them to sustain their tenancy agreement and to help them to realise their goals for their futures.

The hours of work will be divided between working with residents and working from the housing team office, providing office cover and carrying out Property associated tasks.

Summary of main responsibilities

  • Develop individual client led support plan for each tenant addressing the areas in which they need support and implementing short term as well as long term goals.
  • Identify core reason(s) for the individual becoming and staying homeless, supporting them in addressing the issue and learning ways to deal with it in the future
  • Assessing perspective tenants suitability to the project
  • Liaising with other agencies & authorities on behalf of tenants
  • Carrying out regular support plan reviews
  • Work together with the tenants and support agencies / employment programmes to empower and support the tenants to get back in to work
  • To identify a move on route suitable for individual tenant as they reach the end of their tenancy
  • To be able to respond to challenging situations and behaviours of tenants. Balancing supporting the tenant with them understanding the consequences of their actions.
  • Supporting tenants in budgeting and using their money wisely, as well as helping them to prioritise rent and other bills.
  • Keep the team up to date with individual tenant’s situation & progress including advice given, via email or in staff meetings.
  • Supporting tenants in growing self-confidence & being able to handle responsibility.
  • Taking a step by step approach in supporting tenants toward being able to live independently by the end of their tenancy.
  • Assist tenants in making successful benefits claims.
  • Praying with tenants, encouraging them to go to church, Alpha courses and finding opportunities to share about Jesus with them
  • Property responsibilities
  • Representing LCM / HCH to funders / perspective funders
  • There is an Occupational Requirement that the person appointed be an evangelical Christian.

    Hours : Part-time, Permanent, 16 hours per week.

    Salary : £9176.96 per annum
