Your Responsibilities :
The New Product Introduction and Process Technology (NPI-PT) team at GSK's Barnard Castle site is critical to ensuring the site's complex manufacturing and packaging processes are controlled and robust for all dose forms across a range of different pharmaceutical product streams.

Within the NPI-PT team, the Packaging Technology Group is responsible for the provision of a technical packaging service across a number of different production areas, covering the full range of pack formats produced at the Barnard Castle site.
This includes the preparation of technical protocols and reports for validation exercises to support delivery of new product launches, packaging projects and process improvement initiatives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Packaging Technologist to join the site packaging team on a permanent basis.
Your role will span technical support for new product introductions interacting with numerous on site departments & functions, above site GSK centres of excellence as well as component and equipment suppliers.
The role will also require support for packaging projects such as pack design modifications, equipment installation / validation, Etc.
Along with process improvement initiatives and optimisation projects to improve line performance, improve quality, customer service, reduce costs and complexity.
You'll also be involved in day to day trouble shooting and provide reactive support through continuous improvement tools & techniques (i.
problem solving, RCA, Etc.
This is applicable to all production facilities covering different dose forms and packaging formats from primary (vials, bottles, tubes, tablet blisters, Etc.
secondary (cartons, leaflets, labels, Etc) through to tertiary (i.
cases, trays, Etc.
The role will also incorporate assessment of new components, line trials, equipment validation, creating and updating technical specifications and drawings with consideration of artwork requirements.
GSK Barnard Castle is one of the most complex sites globally in the GSK network with regards to pack format complexity.

Ideally you'll have a good knowledge of packaging processes, components, specifications, packaging equipment and plant covering primary, secondary & tertiary packaging -
preferably with direct experience in the pharmaceutical, or a highly regulated industry.
