Key Tasks : -
To support the business unit chassis programme and engineering activities in the PD assembly department
Define the most eficient and competitive robotic / automated manufacturing process ti achieve process performance attributes :
Assembling cell concepts for wekding, machining / Piercing, corrosion protection processes, post E-Coat assembly operations (bushing ball jointing)
Create layout concepts optimizing floor space and material flow
Calculate manning requirements
Conduct manufacturing feasibility reviews
Review tolerance / capability feasibility of a design based on customer requirements and define achievable tolerances based on tolerance stack up studies
Create PFMEA documents, conduct reviews and track / update on a regualr basis up to project handover
Support quotation process during new business activities :
Identify the optimum process option fir best piece price, tooling and investment cost combination
Define and prepare quotation for business case projections
Skills, Experience and Qualifications necessary
To possess minimum of three years experience in the automotive industry within the manufacturing process design using MIG / MAG / Resistance welding and automation preferably in chassis products
Experience / specialist in CAD (CATIA AutoCad Mechanical), simultation software packages (CAE,process simultation), Microsoft office, Teamcenter, PFMEAs and GD&T.
Specialist knowledge of machining processes, piercing operations, aluminium welding would be beneficial.
