Our Role

Reporting directly to the Safety and Quality Training Manager, the main purpose of this role is to manage quality assurance arrangements within the Training Centre(s).

As Internal Verifier, you will be required to work in an agile way to support changing business requirements and any changes to the programme of Technical Training delivery.

When carrying out this role, you will be required to assist in co-ordinating and monitoring assessments carried out at the Training Centre(s).

The requirement for Street Works training in SSE is focused mainly in Scotland and the South Coast of England therefore the job will require travel across the UK on a regular basis to ensure we are providing high quality training and assessment.

Additionally, you will be required to maintain and subsequently provide accurate reports and records of your verification activity to allow you to be audited by the External Verifier, to demonstrate that the quality assurance requirements of the awards are met.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience of technical training / assessing or working within the field along with good technical knowledge that can support the assessing and verification process for all required qualifications.

Street Works Internal Verifiers must work to the most current standards of the appropriate workplace Verifier qualification for the nation in which the Units are being assessed.

Therefore, you must have achieved or be working to the standards of one of the following :

  • Internally Monitor and Maintain the Quality of Workplace Assessment (L&D11)
  • Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice
  • Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice
  • If delivering / assessing Street Works training you must be qualified to the following standards :

  • Internal Standard to train and assess (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training
  • To assess Street Works Operative Units (Minimum Qualifications) :

  • Assess Workplace Competence Using Direct Methods (L&D9D)
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
  • To assess Street Works Supervisor Units (Minimum Qualifications) :

  • Workplace Assessment Using Direct and Indirect Methods
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
  • Personal Attributes / Competencies :

  • Must be able to travel regularly within the UK.
  • Must be flexible in supporting training delivery and assurance needs across Technical Training where required and reasonably practical.
  • Problem solving of any issues and queries around assessments.
  • Able to manage time effectively, ensuring all deadlines and KPIs are delivered.
  • Be able to adapt to changing workload and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with confidence.
