Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an Authorising Engineer (mechanical bias) to join our Facilities Management team in London, Waterloo.

The main purpose of the role is to provide assistance in enabling Bouygues Energies & Services to be compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and ensure correct implementation of safe systems of work across assigned projects.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role will involve :
Being responsible for implementing the BYES Mechanical Safety Rules and Procedures for work on mechanical systems to reflect company policies and legislation
Assessing the experience, training and competence of Mechanical Authorised Persons; providing recommendations of appointment
Developing site APs to ensure compliance and succession planning
Providing technical and engineering support to ensure all APs are competent to carry out their function
Designing and delivering training and facilitating workshops to ensure APs have the necessary level of competence
Supporting business development through provision of data / information / site information gathering visits
Reviewing data and information and preparing compliance status performance reports
Conducting investigations ensuring BYES learn from the event and all actions are completed within the agreed timeframes therefore minimising the risk of any similar accidents and incidents occurring in the future
Carrying out internal or external auditing activities
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications :
Professional engineer (degree qualified or ex-apprentice, preferably HNC level and higher), ideally mechanical bias
Must be a trained Authorised Person with operational experience of delivering FM or other critical services
Professionally registered or working towards IEng / CEng
Good understanding and passion for Health & Safety, IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications are desirable
Helpful and positive attitude, keen on continuous improvement and professional development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to analyse data and produce action plans

Responsible for implementing the BYES Safety Rules and Procedures for the disciplines to which you are appointed; in line with company policies and changes in legislation.
To write safety programmes and associated documentation. Assess the experience, training and competence of Authorised Persons, Responsible Persons and Competent Persons, and provide recommendations for appointment as required.
Carry out internal or external auditing activities as required; to include evaluation of subcontractor documentation and service reports.
and to assist in the development of APs to ensure a balanced succession plan. Design, deliver and recommend suitable levels of training, and facilitate workshops, to enable and ensure persons under BYES UK's management, supervision and control have the required and acceptable level of competence.
Support the business development department through provision of data / information, site information gathering visits, and mobilisation support.
Conduct investigations as required ensuring BYES learn from the event and all actions are completed and closed out within the agreed timeframes therefore minimising the risk of any similar accidents and incidents occurring in the future.
Assist with the preparation and implementation of business continuity, emergency preparedness including assessing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of plans making recommendations for continual improvement as required.
Review data and information to prepare technical and performance reports as required. Ensure these are delivered on time and in the correct format.
clients, supply chain partners (contractors, designers) and enforcement agencies, certification, industry and professional organisations where required.
Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, service partners and internal operational teams.
