Role / Responsibilities
Leadership of a large team to engage and enable them to drive the achievement of the business expectations and goals
Supports the UKI easiest choice vision by setting goals, ensuring individual and team behaviors support this vision.
Monitors the performance expectations for UK Plants to ensure that operational goals are achieved to support the operational and strategic goals of the function.
Develops the culture change that will deliver operating, service performance and quality standards that will drive excellent customer satisfaction.
Ensure that every plant continues to drive and achieve the zero harm culture.
Develops and drives employee engagement throughout the plant network.
Constantly review & improve efficiency in the plants by elimination of waste to reduce cost in the operation.
Responsible for providing developmental coaching for Plant Managers and the Plant supervisory team.
Champions operational excellence and daily management system implementation in the plants.
Analyse cost trends and drive actions with plants to ensure that cost performance is always according to budget.
Analyse Plants performance against KPI objectives in critical areas of health & safety, quality, service, production performance etc and directs performance and process improvements at Plant level to achieve and exceed targets.
Coordinates with Asset Management, Commercial & Logistics functions to ensure manufacturing performance supports and is aligned with corporate mission
Provide coaching to the Plant Managers and Plant Leadership Team concerning risk management, quality, people management and output performance.
Deputizes for the Senior Director UKI Supply Chain in their absence, as required.
Contributes to the Operations Management team in planning, budgeting and forecasting
Leads projects and teams both within plant operations or across functions to deliver corporate objectives and goals
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in Manufacturing / Engineering / business or a related field. Master’s degree, Lean Sigma qualified.
Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental standards
Quality Improvement Systems and Total Quality Approach / Lean fundamentals
Operational excellence and daily management systems that drive efficiency and reduce cost
Supply Chain, Logistics and Manufacturing Operations
Employment relations in a unionized environment
Tactical and operational planning using electronic tools
Working in a matrix organization
At least 6 years post-graduate experience in a high volume operations management environment
At least 4 years leadership experience
