Sitting within the Operational Transformation department, you will have the opportunity to drive meaningful change within the business.
You will be leading or supporting in the assessment of business needs and delivery of solutions.
The Opportunity :
To be part of dynamic business facing operational excellence team who are responsible for delivering fast paced, tangible & sustainable change to the business.
The context of the change could be in any of the following areas claims, underwriting, underwriting operations, finance, shared service, general operations etc.
and the change itself could be related to technology, process, people, operating model, robotics & automation and can leverage Lean, Six Sigma, Systems Thinking, Agile, Waterfall techniques.
Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to :
Ability to understand the business operating context and the associated opportunities / challenges by conducting stakeholder interviews & workshops
Elicit, capture and document these opportunities / challenges into a business requirements in a structured & efficient manner for consumption by other parties (other stakeholders, architects, developers, testers)
Creating as-is’ or to-be’ process maps or target operating models
Working collaboratively with other teams identify the best possible solution incorporating process, system or people changes to address the business challenges.
Working with Architects, Operational Excellence teams and Development teams to create detailed design specifications documents.
Supporting the project manager on vendor management, review of test scripts / plans, completing change impact assessment.
Positively promoting the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage and work within your peer group to continuously seal ways of improving the analysis function.
Managing and motivating business resources and project team resources (including third parties) to support the delivery of analysis and ensure deliverables are met
Drive the onshore / offshore development & test teams while providing clarifications as and when required.
Managing key stakeholders in the project / programme.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience :
A professional qualification relevant to the role & 5+ years for Business Analysis experience
Knowledge of Insurance or experience of consulting in a complex Financial Services organisation
Prioritise workload and balance / escalate conflicting demands in order to ensure agreed deadlines are achieved
Experience of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and disciplines preferably within a multi-vendor environment
Experience of working in an Agile, Lean, Six Sigma environment would be desirable, as would exposure to technologies like Microsoft Dynamic, Pega, Salesforce, Guidewire CMS, XML, PL / SQL, Visual Basic, Python etc.
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build effective teams that leverage different skill-sets and perspectives.
Able to utilise technically difficult tools whilst keeping non-technical people engaged.
Experience of working in an Agile, Lean, Six Sigma environment would be desirable
Is independent : enjoys being allowed the freedom to push through a solution, but also is open to feedback and challenge.
Is customer focused - able to see when the process is getting in the way of the customer experience.
