Your Responsibilities :
We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and motivated Operations Engineering Manager to join our team at GSK Worthing.
You will be working within the Oral Solid Dose Packaging area (Suspensions and Tablets) covering 12 packaging lines which produces circa 50 55M units per annum.
You will drive improvements to equipment reliability in support of efficiency initiatives. You will also ensure the broadening of the engineering team skills, problem solving and improvement capability
The Engineering function at the GSK Worthing (Global Manufacturing and Supply) site is responsible for the provision of technical expertise to support the manufacturing, automation and controls systems for all production operations to ensure production targets are achieved.
Due to sustained long-term investment at the Worthing manufacturing site, we are looking for a dynamic and driven Engineering Operations Manager to manage the team responsible for delivering all operational engineering elements (including Mechanical, Electrical, Process Control & Civil) for the value stream.
Reporting to the VSD (Value Stream Director), you will be accountable to the central engineering group for operational Engineering ways of working, compliance and application of centrally controlled disciplines and standards.
Your team will have circa 20 to 25 people direct reports (including contract workers) who will be working on a shift pattern to ensure continuity of service within the value stream.
As line-manager you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Engineering team (including identification of training needs).
In addition to leading your team, you will also be heavily involved in the Senior Engineering Leadership team (as part of the site’s leadership team) to ensure engineering strategy, performance, compliance, and all related ways of working, is effectively managed.
You will also be the owner of value stream capital equipment process (which includes direct project control of minor capital activity) and be accountable for equipment compliance (Quality and EHS) within the value stream.
About You :
This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment.
You will be a qualified engineer, with a strong track-record of delivering operational management. Strong people- management skills and experience, as well as a proven ability to drive performance, are considered essential.
It is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions.
You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience of dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated-industry (experience of pharmaceutical manufacturing would be highly advantageous).
About Worthing Manufacturing Site :
Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for Anti-Biotics (in three different dosage forms; steriles, tablets, and suspensions).
A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of products.
This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.
