Job Title : Chief Science and Legal Compliance Officer

Salary : 45-55k

Contract : Permanent, full time

Are you looking for a new challenge in the North West as a Chief Science and Legal Compliance Officer? We are looking to recruit a dynamic, forward-

thinking individual to join a rapidly expanding team.

About the company :

A rapidly growing ISO9001 manufacturer of e-liquid products for the e-cigarette industry. The aim is to represent the gold standard in terms of both producing the safest possible products, and exceeding mere legal reporting requirements for those products.

We have legal obligations under TPD2 / TRPR to report on ingredients, toxicological assessments of each compound (including dosage calculations) and emissions generated by the e-

liquid under real-world conditions. The team have already developed pioneering processes for producing e-condensates for emission samples, and are most of the way through delivering phase one of administrative systems to support the reporting requirements.

Previous experience of meeting MHRA standards for research, product submission and ongoing quality management would be highly advantageous.

About you :

  • Educated to PhD level in a related field of science
  • Impeccable mathematical and data analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Lateral approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with toxicologists and analytical scientists highly advantageous
  • Previous experience taking a product through MHRA medicines licensing is also highly advantageous
  • Solid knowledge of GLP, GMP and GCP Regulations / requirements and understanding of quality management system
  • A driven, results oriented manager with extensive management experience and demonstrated ability to form, lead and manage teams effectively to achieve challenging goals
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and problems, assess risk and offer solutions and recommendations on product / project issues.
  • Able to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty

  • An ability to reduce complex science to concepts that could be understood by a lay-person
  • An ability to conceptualise research and experiments to prove or disprove hypotheses
  • Thorough understanding of CLP in relation to packaging requirements
  • An ability to specify admin systems and infrastructure around new processes
  • Must be able to combine financial acumen with scientific expertise to manage project resourcing and budgets
  • We are looking for somebody with excellent scientific and business know how, as well as proven ability to align the company functions with the strategic vision.

    Somebody who has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start up environment.

    Prior to interview, we would ask candidates to familiarise themselves with both TRPR / TPD2 and the FDA Deeming Regulations.
