Our Café Assistants are at the social hub of our centres. Whether it’s that essential morning cup of coffee or that well-
earned treat, as a Café Assistant you will warmly welcome all customers, ensure all food and beverage is prepared and presented to standard, set up, clean and clear up all areas and recognise the opportunity to make suggestions or promote products.

The main tasks and responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to) :
Greet customers in a positive, friendly and timely manner
Establish customer requirements; suggest most suitable products for customers, upsell and suggest promotions where possible, taking customer orders
Process and prepare food and drink orders
Seek customer feedback; personally act on feedback where possible. Escalate feedback, when required
Operate a range of equipment, to include coffee machine, blender, grill, dishwasher, in a safe, tidy, hygienic manner, in line with brand standards manual.
Conduct basic record keeping tasks, such as temperature checks & wastage records, and basic equipment and maintenance checks, immediately reporting any non-
compliance to line manager
Serve food and drink orders to customers in a friendly, efficient and timely manner, in line with brand standards manual
Fill and replenish food and drink displays, ensure all food and drink displays are presented, merchandised and priced in line with brand manual standards
Receive and store food and drink deliveries, in line with brand manual standards
Perform café set and close down process, when required, in line with brand manual standards
To be successful as a Café Assistant, you need to have :
Experience of customer facing roles, preferably in a commercial food environment
Minimum level 1 food hygiene certificate (preferred, but not essential)
Ability to make a positive first impression, and be well presented at all times
A proactive approach, able to demonstrate personal accountability
A solutions-focused team player personality, with a can-do attitude
